The purpose of the BYU ITE Student Chapter is to promote the advancement of transportation and traffic engineering by fostering close association of students with the transportation and traffic engineering profession. Student members will have opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge, network with transportation professionals, participate in service-oriented activities, and gain valuable leadership experience. All full-time BYU students in good academic standing are welcome to become members of the BYU student chapter. Membership in the BYU student chapter is free.

Structure of ITE

ITE International is split into 10 geographic districts worldwide. These districts are further split into sections, which usually represent states or regional areas. Each section consists of a number of chapters, which are created to better serve members locally. Each level of membership generally has its own membership dues. The BYU student chapter is in the Intermountain Section of the Western District. In addition to BYU ITE sponsored activities, BYU ITE members are often invited to participate in luncheons, activities, and conferences sponsored by the Utah Chapter.
